Kings Head

The Kings Head was situated at 761 High Road. One of the early Leyton pubs, standing beside what is now Leyton Green – it was present by 1686.  By the 1820 the pub was the departure point for coaches from Leyton to London.  The last date I have seen for the pub was 1856 and it was said to have been mostly demolished by 1868, although one wall apparently lingered on into the 1920s.
