Lincolns

Lincolns was situated at 566 High Road.

This pub was built in 1870 and called the Elms.  It was, by the 1950s at least, a Watney’s pub.  It was renamed the Lincoln in around 1986 and further renamed Big Hand Mo’s in 1996.  It reverted to Lincolns in 2001 and developed a rather unsavoury reputation for late-night rowdiness.  The opening hours were reduced in 2005 when a stabbing was quickly followed by a firearms offence. The licence was then revoked in November 2008 following a police drugs raid.  Owners Trust Inns said they wished to reopen it as a traditional pub’, but the premises remain closed and for sale in May 2010
This pub was used as an Indian restaurant during the filming of The Magnificent Eleven (see photo below). There is footage of the film here.
This pub has now been demolished.
