The Star

Site of The Star, 2012

The Star was situated at 30 Snowshill Road.

This pub was closed in 2002 and converted into flats. The last time I went past there the frontage of the pub was still there.

The Star is now a block of flats called Star House. The frontage of the pub is no longer available.

This was a great pub in the 1970s, the landlords Len & Pearl always had lock ins at the weekends.

Peter Knight 1970s/1980s As a kid I used to go here with my granddad, dad and brother. My granddad was David Knight (anyone remember him?). Got to walk through the bar once and everyone said hello to my granddad. I thought he was famous! Also remember getting a nasty splinter in the backside from the dodgy slide in the beer garden....ahhh, the smell of beer and fags....
