The Albion was situated at 102-104 Albert Road. This pub was
present by 1872
and was known locally as the Cowshed. |

The pub was damaged in a 1944 air raid.
The area around it was flattened but the pub remained defiantly upright. It
continued to trade as a public house then became little more than a basic
cafe. It was finally demolished around 1957 as the area was rebuilt into
housing known as Albert Walk. |
