The Duke Of Cambridge was situated at 178 Boundary Road. This
was a former Ind Coope pub dating back to 1861. It closed in 2009/10 and has
since been demolished. The building next door (180 Boundary Road) used to be
the Gardeners Arms until
the 1960s. |

This pub was established in 1861 and was owned in its early
days by the Albion Brewery. In 1899 it passed to the Cannon Brewery and by
the 1980’s was badged by Ind Coope as a Taylor Walker house. It had been
rebuilt in 1972 as part of the development of the Colchester Road Estate.
Acquired in the late-1990s by the Ridley’s Brewery of Essex, it was however
by then very much in decline. |
