The Rising Sun was situated at 87 Sydney Street (formerly 1 Sydney Street).  This pub was present by 1842.  It was close to the famous Siege of (100) Sidney Street on 3 January 1910 when the reporter for the Daily Chronicle watched events from the pub roof. This photograph was taken at that time. The pub has been demolished.
