The Bull & Pump was situated at 72 Shoreditch
High Street. This pub is now used as a sports bar. |

I was born here in 1938. My grandfather Alfred Thomas Law, was the
publican. My mother, his daughter, is still alive. |

My father was the owner of this pub
from November 1962 to May 1964. I was 16/17 years old at the time. I
remember it did a good lunchtime trade but quieter in the evening. The older
customers used to come in, for a warm I think, and sit with a half pint of
Guinness all night. Welcome of course.
This is where I was when the television in the bar announced that President
Kennedy had been assassinated. |
