Duke Of Gloucester

The Duke Of Gloucester was situated at 81 New Road. This pub was present by 1841 and had its own brewery in the 1840s.  It was rebuilt in classic late-Victorian style in 1887, but had closed by 1923.  The premises are now in use as a clothes shop.
