The Anchor & Hope was situated at 90 Duckett
Street.
This was a traditional, two bar, back street
Watney’s house. It was established by 1881 and closed in 1995, after the
last two years under the name Arkwrights.
It is now a grocer’s store. |
|
This pub was run by Mr
Richard Moore, my grandfather, during the war until the early 1950’s. He had
lost an arm in accident in the docks. |

This building has now been demolished
and replaced by flats. |
