The Oxford Arms was situated at 43
Stepney Way. This pub closed in 2004 and has now been demolished to
facilitate the building of an extension to the London Hospital. |

The Oxford Arms Pub at 43 Stepney Way
(then known as Oxford Street), in 1871 was run (owned?) by Welsh born George
Roberts - ‘Beer-House Keeper’. He and his wife, Eliza, were grandparents to
the once well known London Music Hall singer, dance and theatre comedienne
Gladys Archbutt. |
