The Prince Of Wales was situated at 102 Grantley Street. This pub is now in residential use.
Between 1983 and 1986 I lived at 108 Grantley Street, just a few doors down from the old pub. It was effectively derelict when I moved in and it appeared to have been so for many years, so I’ve got no idea when it actually closed down. However in 1985, it was used by the BBC in a kids TV show called Running Scared starting James Cosmo. We were asked not to leave our houses or park our cars on the street while they were filming and were paid about £50 for our trouble.
