Flower Pot

Date of photo: c1950

The Flower Pot was situated at 43 Old Bethnal Green Road.  This was a Charrington’s Brewery pub, established by 1872 and rebuilt in 1908.  It survived until at least 1935 and recently served as a fast food outlet.  It is now freshly converted for use as offices.

I went to St Bernards school in Bethnal Green and we had a teacher called Mr Plant and he used to drink in The Flower Pot!
