The
Panther was present at 15 Turin Street
by 1832, when it was home to a local French-speaking friendly society, the ‘Piccards
& Waloons’. It was a Whitbread Brewery pub and by
the 1960s was the only
pre-war survivor in a street otherwise demolished following damage sustained
in the Blitz. The pub itself became a victim of demolition following
closure in 2004. A block of flats has now been built on the site. |
