The Westminster Arms was situated at

Gosset Street.
This pub was founded as
the Westminster
Arms before
1881. In its final days it went through a series of new names, including:
1983: RJ’s, 1986: Jazzy Dees, 1992: Flamingos. The pub closed by 2006 and
was converted
to residential use as “Flamingo

Was born here in 1944,and stayed until 1963,it was once
owned by my Grandmother Alice Silverton 1936,untill after the war,my
father then took over the running of the pub until we moved on too the
Victory Pub Hoxton London NI. |

Always known as Sammy Silverton's by my grand father
'Sham' Harry Dearing. spent many many hours upstairs with my cousins
Michael and Geoffrey Dearing whilst the grown ups enjoyed the bar . I
live in Devon bur always had our christmas and summer holidays at 56 St
Peters Avenue, my grand Parents home Silvertons was the nearest pub. I
