This was a Watney’s Brewery pub, established by 1872. It was best
known as a gay venue in the 1980s and majored on disco nights. The pub
was acquired by Belhaven in around 1990 and almost inevitably closed soon
afterwards, being converted to residential use. |

This pub closed in 1997. My family and I
converted it to residential accommodation and lived in it from 1997 to
2002. |
