The Clarendon Arms was situated at 86 Balcorne
Street and is now used as flats. |

Im not 100% sure when this pub originally
opened, but I worked on the renovation of this pub back in I'm sure it was
1988. I can't remember if it was a pub before it opened, im sure it wasn't
but could be wrong. A bloke called Alan Wheeler was the owner and it was a
pretty top end establishment. I vividly remember it had a spiral mahogany
staircase installed which cost £8k at that time! |
