The Frampton Arms was situated at 47 Well
Street, Hackney. |
|
This Courage Brewery pub was present on Well Street by 1861. It had
associations with 1960s gangland troubles and later was well known as an
openly gay pub at a time when most remained undercover. It closed in
2002 and was demolished by 2010 (see site in photo below). |

My Aunty and Uncle,.Osna and Albert Piper, owned this
pub. I have many happy childhood memories of this place. So sad its
gone. |
