The Victoria was situated at 25 Charterhouse
Street. Now demolished and replaced by the office block in the photo below. |

This pub was closed and demolished in the early 1990s when the block it was
part of was redeveloped. It was an Ind Coope pub and had a licence to open
at 5am as it was close to Smithfield Market. I only drank in there the once
in 1989, after a night shift at Mount Pleasant Post Office; some of the
customers were advertising executives carrying on from the previous night's
Christmas Party. When I next went past it was closed and boarded up. |
