The very
first pub I visited during my 'City' career. July 1974. I was just 17 years
old but looked much younger. Nonetheless there I sat downstairs in a booth
with 3 colleagues in the basement area of that really very small
establishment imbibing just a single pint of bitter, and tucking into a very
tasty ploughmans. Returned over the road to work at the National Westminster
Bank, 1 Princes Street, thoroughly plastered. Ridiculous, of course, but
that was the way things were, there, at the time. On the other hand; happy
days! |
