Porters Lodge

Date of photo: 2014

The Porters Lodge was situated at 17 Arthur Street. This pub closed in 2014 and was subsequently demolished. The Lodge was built in the eighties and like several City pubs from that era was not a separate building but a ground floor and/or basement bar that was part of a larger development. It was a Charrington's pub and was a darts pub with eight dartboards.

Rob Madigan 2007/2012 I managed the PL during 2007-2012. With Thai Food and had two pool tables. I decided to introduce darts to the Porters. By the time I left early 2013,we had been running many successful dart tournaments, had over 70 different dart teams using the pub as a home venue from 8 different dart league. Many professional dart players came along to the pub for media purposes. The pub whilst I was there was a TAW for Admiral Taverns.
