The Turrets

The Turrets was situated at 43 Friern Barnet Road. This pub was built in 1887 and originally known as the Railway Tavern.

My dad was born in The Turrets when it was called The Railway Hotel in 1935.  My grandparents were running it at the time.  This picture below is of my grandfather standing outside.  Was sad to see it knocked down recently but went to the site and a lovely man on a digger very kindly helped me gather a few bricks for me to keep as a little memory of my family history!
