Flower Pot
|

|
|
The Flower Pot was situated at 19 St Anns Road.
It was such a novel design -
Literally looked like a flower pot from the outside. The outside entrance
was a stairway that took you to the top floor entrance. There was a bar
upstairs and an inside stairway that took you down to the downstairs bar.
Demolished around mid 1980s. |

I was a member of a band who
played on many occasions here in the mid/late 1950"s. We won a big North
London talent competition held here around 1958. A very large and unusually
designed pub I re-call . |

Customer - introduced by house mate in Jan 1973. Bars on
many levels at that time. A small stage with a DJ to one side, 'exotic
dancers' performing on the stage. One night I ordered a glass of
vermouth, but didn't want ice in it, so threw it away. By a fluke I hit
the dancer [not intended] The next night the stage was being showered
with ice cubes. Went back in 75 and it was dead. No DJ, no dancers. |
