Landlord was Fredie Mc Guire in the 1940s. The pub was a meeting place for Amateur boxers like Des Sandal and the Isligton Gangs responsible for jewellery robbies like The Birchin Lane Captain Binney murder and the Alec de Antiquis murder at Charlotte st W 1 etc.
