I was a regular here during the 90s when it was called
the Trolley Stop. My band played here several times - good back room.
That pub along with the Dog & Dumplings on Southgate Road were our two
main local music venues. The Dog was formerly the Jolly Farmer's and
subsequently The Northgate - and is now, ironically, the De Beauvoir
Arms. |

One of the last pubs in the area to feature live music
most nights. A ridiculously popular quiz night too. Landlord John
McCarthy was one of the kindest landlords I ever knew, and a Dalston
legend. Legendary lock-ins. If a cop car stopped outside, we'd all have
to pile into the flat upstairs! |

Loved it, round pool table, Erin
behind the bar, lock in, Juice bar next door, bands in back, Tracy the
Scottish manager, happy days |
