The Green Man was situated at 257
Hoxton Street. This pub closed in 2003. |

I worked at the Green Man on Hoxton
Street for a couple of years – 1980 - 1982. I was a barmaid and it was a
true “local” I lived just up the street in Kempton House. I cannot recall
the owner, but he would take last orders – and then lock the door. If you
were inside – you stayed! I got paid extra to stay and tend to the after
hours clients – the lights were dimmer and we could chat and enjoy each
other’s company without loud music! |
