The Cock Tavern was situated at 596 Holloway Road and was previously known as Nambucca and Swagmans.

This pub has now reopened and is trading under the name of Nambucca again.

I watched the Queen’s coronation on TV at this pub on June 2nd 1953. We were visiting the landlord, my uncle Michael J Duffy and his wife Thelma (known as Pam). Upstairs there was a function room with a pipe organ which I loved to play with as a six or seven-year-old. My uncle told us that a regular in the pub was the actor Patrick McGoohan.
