It was owned by my great great grandfather, Benjamin Nichols
when he was the manager of Harrison Barber Horse Slaughterers. The original
yard is now a railway depot. He died in the late 1880's, |

My father, Terence Paul Driscoll,
ran this pub for a few years, in the late 1960's. I helped out behind
the bar occasionally at weekends (I was aged 12!) I remember the large
garden (wilderness) and the friendly atmosphere. My father died in 2005. |
