The Belmont was situated at 78-79 Chalk Farm
Road.
This was a lounge bar known as Bartok when it closed in mid-2011. Prior to
that it was called The Engine Room from 1991 to 1998 after being known as
The Belmont from the 19th century. |

Situated
opposite the Roundhouse, the pub was a favourite haunt of the disciples of
the sex guru Rajneesh, aka The Orange People from the mid 1970s to mid
1980s, The main Rajaneesh meditation centre wss on Belmont street and called
Kalptaru, another RMC was the Body Centre in Belsize Park |
