The Royal George was situated at 2 Blissett Street. This pub closed in 2010 and has now been converted into flats.

My father , James Francis Morrissey took over the licence in 1965. He dropped dead one year later, and my mother, Sheila Morrissey (later to remarry to Hollands) took over the licence following my fathers sudden death. She continued to run the pub until 1970 when she was declared bankrupt. It was never a good place for us.
