The Surrey Tavern was situated at Kennington
Oval. The original pub was demolished c1964 and replaced
by the new building above. This in turn was demolished in 2008. |

I grew up in this pub as a daughter of the landlord. The
best times going around on a milk float delivering all the beer to the
smaller bars surrounding the cricket pitch. And visiting the people who
worked in the tiny office just behind the public areas of the pitch.
Happy days with our German Shepherd called 'Major'. |

I was the Publican Licensee of the Oval Cricket Ground (
and Lords for a short while ) I had a wonderful time happy memories. |

I worked at the Surrey Tavern and
in the Oval. The landlords were Roger and Brenda. When I left I adopted
Major the Alsatian dog. A few customers were nervous about him. |
