This pub was such a great pub to visit. Live entertainment most Fridays and Sundays and good traditional pub food which was free on a Sunday lunchtime. The pub providing food on a Sunday was a tradition in the area going back many years. The buffet included prawns, cockles, muscles, spare ribs, chicken and roast potatoes. This pub, back to the 70s onwards was a great meeting place for young and old.I actually had my wedding reception here in 1982. On a Sunday afternoon it was common place to go on a pub crawl in the area and finish here until we had finished our drinking session. Many people will have great memories of this pub and also The Neptune nearby which was in Brunel Rd (now a small block of flats). The Albion is due to be knocked down this year for development into flats,a fate of many pubs in this area and the UK. A way of life has disappeared forever. The go ahead for it to be knocked down was given by Southwark Council late 2019.
