The Castle was situated on Plumstead Road. It was only a small pub, but it was right next door to Woolwich College, Villas Road, Woolwich, (which is now called Greenwich Community College). Students (and some teaching staff) would meet there for a lunch-time beer and at the back of the pub was a small room with a bar billiards table, which was always popular. The pub closed down and subsequently it was demolished to make way for the College to build a new section at the front.
