Florence Nightingale

The Florence Nightingale was situated at 199 Westminster Bridge Road. This pub was closed in 2005, then demolished to make way for a new development.

It was the Geoffrey Chaucer in my day. When I worked at the Passport office in 1978/79, we sometimes went there after work. It was full of nurses & people from the Houses of Parliament & it had a hexagonal pool table. We used to announce our arrival by putting on Ian Dury's 'There ain't half been some clever bastards'.
