Robin Hood

The Robin Hood was situated at 101 Croydon Road at the junction with Elmers End Road. This pub closed c2002 and has now been demolished following a fire in 2006. An Aldi supermarket has been built on the site.

My Grandparents had the Robin hood before and during the war. My father was brought up there.
There was apparently a very productive walnut tree in the back garden. The sign bearing the Quinn name outside was actually W D Quinn
During the war my father liked to get back there as they always had a good supply of roasts in spite of rationing.
My great aunt had The Dewdrop in Maple Road Penge, I cannot remember the dates though, probably a similar time.
Bill Quinn (January 2025)
