The Forest Hill Hotel was situated at 41 Stanstead Road. This pub is to be converted into flats.

I lived in this pub as a child, possibly between 1982-1983. It wasn’t an enjoyable experience overall, mainly to do with the bad energy in the pub, or the hauntings, whatever you want to call it. The occasions when unusual things happened were so frequent that my mother refused to sleep in the pub until it was exorcised by a local priest. This happened, but made no difference and we left the pub after a short period of time. It wasn’t all bad, at the time may parents were young and there was always parties, with lots of live music and people. Sad to see it gone…
