I used to frequent this pub in the
70's. Most of my mates would meet up on a Friday night. In addition, I
played for the pub side in the south eastern league on a Saturday. After the
game we would head back to the pub. We were quite successful for a while
which led to the pub manager throwing out a challenge that there would be a
free pint if we scored 6 and another pint thereafter. The following week we
scored 11 and that was the end of that offer. Plenty more stories, singing
"old Macdonald " and the fancy dress chaos! |
