The Finborough Arms was situated at 118
Finborough Road. This pub
was built in 1868 to a design by George Godwin. It was one of five public
houses built by Corbett and McClymont in the Earls Court area during the
West London development boom of the 1860s. From 1980 the building also house
The Finborough Theatre. Following closure in 2006 It is now a wine bar/cafe called The Finborough Wine
Cafe. On October 18th, 1940, landlady for more than 50 years, 93-year-old
Mary Ann Finch, was killed in the London Blitz with her two daughters
Florence, 69, and Mary Ann, 70. |
