This traditional working man's pub was
called The Northumberland Arms and had a long history as an inn on the upper
Richmond Road - a main road to Richmond. A couple of bombs fell nearby
during the second world War.
It went out of business in the 1980s and became a Jim Thompson's oriental
bar-restaurant That too failed and after a period under antipodean
management as The Captain Cook, it was converted to flats with a Sainsburys
local occupying part of the bar area. |
