The Kings Head was situated at 18 Merton High Street and is now used as an office of the Go Ahead bus company. This pub closed in 2004.

The Lonesome Whistle Blues Band used upstairs (with thanks to then Landlords Brian and his wife Doreen) as a rehearsal room and later on as a Blues Venue/Jam night every Sunday until Youngs Brewary pulled the plug. Bob Brunning (Fleetwood Mac) was later to take over as Bass player/Manager. The band was later to be re-named The Bob Brunnings Deluxe Blues Band.
