The Kings Head was situated at 18 Merton High
Street and is now used as an office of the Go Ahead bus company. This pub closed in
2004. |
|
The Lonesome Whistle Blues Band used upstairs
(with thanks to
then Landlords Brian and his wife Doreen) as a rehearsal room
and later on as a Blues Venue/Jam night every Sunday until Youngs Brewary
pulled the plug. Bob Brunning (Fleetwood Mac) was later
to take over as Bass player/Manager.
The band was later to be re-named The Bob Brunnings Deluxe Blues Band. |
