The Horse & Groom was situated at 17 Kinnerton
Street. This pub was demolished in the 1970s together other buildings in the
street. The site is now the location of a Gordon Ramsay restaurant. |

My parents must have spent a great deal of time in the pubs
of Chelsea and Belgravia in the post-War years and as a child I listened to
their reminiscences. I remember hearing that Anton Karras, composer of The
Third Man theme,
sometimes gave impromptu zither performances at this pub. |

My father James (Jim) Holland worked at
the Mobil garage next door to the pub (KG Motors) for many years as foreman
of the workshops. He was there up to the time the whole lot Pub, Shops, and
the Pantechnicon next door were demolished.in the 70's. Needles to say he
and I were often in the pub at home time. |
