The Colville was situated at 72 King's Road.
This pub is now
used as a boutique. |
|
The pub closed in 1969. Now a Diesel boutique, it was for many years a
boutique called Lord John. I worked there for about 18 months in 1972-73. |

The Colville
Arms was my first port of call after exiting Sloane Square and starting a
pub crawl down the Kings Road. It was a busy pub with a hot display cabinet
which contained suasages, baked beans, and a variety of snack items with
which to fortify ourselves for a hard night’s drinking. It must have taken
me a few visits before I realised it was a gay pub, but it was a pleasant
enough start to the evening. |
