Queens Elm

The Queen's Elm was situated at 241 Fulham Road, and, following closure in the 1990s, is now divided into shops. This pub featured in the film 'The Servant'.
An Irishman called Sean Tracey was the landlord of the Queen's Elm from the mid 1950s until his death in 1986. He wrote a book about his experiences as a publican called The Smell of Broken Glass and also wrote two semi-autobiographical novels. I met him once and he was kind enough to give a signed copy of one of the novels.
Colin Price (December 2019)
The writer Laurie Lee (Cider with Rosie) was a regular of The Queen’s Elm, Fulham, and included a colourful piece about it in his collection “Village Christmas”.
