Lived at 137 Beaufort Street. The
Roebuck was our local pub and we became a bit of a pain to the Landlord
Ian. I also played there a couple of times with a band from my home town
Andover, various 137 friends would join us up on stage. All great fun,
great days. We went to other local pubs in the area but The Roebuck was
our main haunt and I can still see the look of dismay on the Landlord's
face as we marched through the doors. |

1970s - closure |
I remember Roebuck as a pretty wild
pub with upstairs pool room that was popular with the punk generation.
It became my local for a few years as I lived close by. |

I was employed part time at the Roebuck in
1976-1977, this was during the height of the Punk scene, many of the
punk bands would be customers including Sex pistols and Malcolm McLaren
and Vivienne Westwood. It was always busy especially on the last
Saturday of the month when the classic cars used to cruise up and down
the Kings Road |
