My great grandmother Constance Baker
who is on the Norfolk women in history web site my great grandfather john
baker ex royal navy moved into 103 new kings road Fulham London in 1900 and
was great friend's with Dame Nellie Melba and her husband Ben Tillet who
lived at 13 Harwood Road Fulham .
John Baker discovered 3 tunnel's in the basement of 103 New kings road
Fulham the tunnel's were big enough to crawl through , john baker would go
to a pub with Ben Tillet called The lord Palmerston 648 new kings road
Fulham and they new the pub land lord who showed them a tunnel in the
basement of the lord Palmerston this tunnel was like the tunnel's of 103 new
kings road there are such tunnel's along the river thames embankment past
Bishop's park Fulham the Hammersmith section i suspect that there are for
smuggling back in Victorian time's and there are more pub's with a tunnel in
the basement which i suspect are escape rought's fir the smuggler's a
network of pub's and tunnel's i wonder how the network is and what was
smuggled i believe it was gold if you consider the amount of gold there was
about in Victorian time's especialy jewellery as the smuggling could not be
beer , whisky or wine for obvious reason's |
