New Portland Arms

The New Portland Arms was situated at 256 Wandsworth Road. This used to be a Wenlock Brewery pub and still has some Wenlock insignia displayed. The Wenlock brewery in North London was taken over and closed down by Bass in 1962.

What happened to the pub- it wasn’t closed when? What happened to the beautiful mural on the back wall of saloon bar- it showed a map of River Thames with surrounding buildings.
