The Hero Of Switzerland was situated at 142 Loughborough Road. This pub closed c2021 and is due to be demolished.

I was an Eastender, but spent most of my youth based at my mate’s maisonette opposite the pub, so have many happy memories of their flexible closing times, and including a policewoman banging on the door at about 2pm so we could let one of us back into his brothers stag do. This was the last surviving pub of my south London youth and it’s truly sad that the locals had no chance of saving it, when up against big money.
