The Roundhouse

The Roundhouse was situated at the junction of Walmer Road and Lancaster Road. This pub was demolished in the early 1980s. The Kensington Sports Centre was built on the site.

My dad was a regular in this pub when it was known as the Lancaster. I recall the manager was Noel O'Leary, Irish guy (like my dad) who was a massive Celtic fan. He organised a lads trip to Ajax v Celtic from the pub. Hosed down with rain in an open stadium. My dad got flu when he got back and he wasn't even much of a football fan !!!
