The Roundhouse was situated at the junction of
Walmer Road and Lancaster Road. This pub was demolished in the early 1980s. The
Kensington Sports Centre was built on the site. |

My dad was a regular in this pub when it was known as the Lancaster. I
recall the manager was Noel O'Leary, Irish guy (like my dad) who was a
massive Celtic fan. He organised a lads trip to Ajax v Celtic from the pub.
Hosed down with rain in an open stadium. My dad got flu when he got back and
he wasn't even much of a football fan !!! |
