The Railway Tavern was situated at 55 Goldhawk
Road. This pub was later known as The Bushranger
and then c2004 became a Young's pub after a refurbishment, when it changed
its name to The Stinging Nettle. It was originally opened in 1864 when the
Metropolitan Line opened - it's opposite Goldhawk Rd tube station.
Closed in December 2012, it is now used as a branch of Costa Coffee. This
pub is mentioned in 'Lord Mayo', a poem by Irish poet Paul Durcan. |
