Swakeley Hotel

The Swakeley Hotel was situated at 174 Goldhawk Road. This pub was later known as The Swakeley Arms. It closed in 2018 and has now been converted into a gaming bar.

Up till the mid-2010s it was an Irish bar called O'Donoghues. Then it became a *fantastic* video gaming bar called Loading, with sister bars in Brighton and Hackney. Around the summer of 2019, it became The Escape, which prided itself on live music. In late 2022, it closed, and then came back as O'Donoghues, but this time a sporting bar with rather sterile walls, lots of TVs and gambling machines. Throughout this time, it always served a good pint of Guinness and the signage outside never seemed to change...
