The Feathers

The Feathers was situated on King
Street (now Culross Street). This pub was demolished in 1897 and rebuilt the
following year. The interior of the new public house was lavishly fitted up;
the Daily Mail of 5 May 1899 commented that although public houses had
'developed exceedingly of recent years', the Feathers was 'the latest and
the highest development in public-house decoration that has so far been
reached'. It closed c1920 when the lease was sold to Messrs Spink & Son,
fine art dealers. |
